Great news for the people of Balbriggan. Fingal County Council (FCC) has just published the promised sports and recreation feasibility study (The results can be found here). In this study, it clearly identified the necessity of a swimming people for Balbriggan LEA (Local Electoral Area) with two very clear messages:
“Balbriggan and Skerries are coastal settlements and would benefit from additional water-based facilities, additionally, at present there is no indoor swimming facilities."
"Swimming pool facilities are required in this LEA and this may be provided in Balbriggan through the Castlelands Masterplan."
A favourable feasibility study is a prerequisite for any public building to ascertain the likelihood of completing the project successfully and this study corroborates the message FCC sent to North Fingal Pool Committee (NFPC) on their meeting last February (Article can be read here).
So far it is all good news for the construction of an indoor swimming pool in Balbriggan. This project is independent of the Bremore Regional Park.
